ECOLOGY | FORESTRY | BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION
Our Mission: We conduct research that addresses the current challenges of rapid environmental change and consequent impact on biological communities and sustainability of ecosystems. In broad sense, we seek to understand how natural and anthropogenic disturbances including climate change interact to produce patterns and dynamics in landscapes, ecosystems, populations, and species, and how this knowledge can guide sustainable management, conservation, and restoration efforts.
Our Interests: We are interested broadly in community and ecosystem ecology, with a special emphasis on understanding the patterns and mechanisms that drive biodiversity and forest functions. We investigate the role of habitat loss, human exploitation and industrialization on biodiversity and ecosystem function.
Our Approach: We use both theoretical and experimental approaches to draw unique inferences and answer pressing questions relevant to the science, practice and policy of conservation. We are always interested in conducting research that is novel and pertinent to conservation and management of biological diversity.
