The Bartels Research Lab at UNBC

ECOLOGY   |   FORESTS   |   CONSERVATION

What we do: We conduct research that addresses the current challenges of rapid environmental change and consequent impact on biological communities and sustainability of ecosystems. In a broad sense, we seek to understand how natural and anthropogenic disturbances including climate change interact to produce patterns and dynamic changes in forested landscapes, ecosystems, communities, and species populations

How we do it: We use both theoretical and experimental approaches to draw unique inferences and answer pressing questions relevant to the science, practice, and policy of forestry and conservation science.
